Repair your cavities with natural-looking and composite Tooth-Colored Fillings
People get cavities.
Fortunately, today’s safe composite tooth-colored fillings allow you to get your tooth repaired without the unsightly metal “silver amalgam” (mercury) fillings of the past.
Composite fillings are durable and strong, and the white tooth-colored “composite resin” looks completely natural like your original teeth. Dr. Darwish may also recommend porcelain inlay/onlays which are stronger than resin (lab made) if a lot of tooth structure is missing.
How Composite Tooth Fillings Work
Composite tooth-colored fillings usually require just one visit.
- First, your tooth is examined to determine the repair needed.
- Then a composite resin is matched to your natural tooth color to make your new tooth fillings match the color of your existing teeth.
- The cavity/unhealthy tooth structure is removed, the remaining tooth is prepared and the composite resin is replaced or shaped. A special light will be used to harden or “cure” the composite resin.
